Like padel has made waves across the world, the racket sport is also gaining popularity in Hua Hin. The fast-paced racket game is not only a great way to get fit, it’s also perfect to socialize and make new friends. The town is home to three excellent padel locations.
Hua Hin’s year-round sunshine and gentle breeze make it perfect for playing padel outdoors. But what is padel?
Simply said, padel – also named paddle tennis – is a blend of squash and tennis, played on a smaller court with enclosed glass walls. Originally from Mexico and grown popular in the Mediterranean, the game is played between couples on each side of the net.
The sense of accomplishment from rapidly grasping the fundamentals is like a mini-reward loop, constantly reinforcing the desire to play more. And the depth and complexity hidden within the simple rules keep you chasing that next level of mastery.

Gearing up
While padel is gaining popularity in Thailand, padel gear is harder to get by. Most padel clubs sell a few rackets and balls, with Padel of Thailand offering the greatest choice. Or rent a racket for a nominal fee. Sports shops in town will likely not carry any rackets.
You don’t need special padel shoes. Tennis shoes made for clay service will do. SuperSports or Sport World in Market Village, or Sports Mall in Bluport are your friend.
