Hua Hin will once again take center stage in the world of tennis as it hosts the Thailand Open 2024 tournament in January. The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) International Series Tournament returns for its latest edition, offering a prize pool of USD 300,000.
The Thailand Open, a WTA 250 event, will start with qualifying rounds scheduled for January 27-28, followed by the main draw competition running from January 29 to February 4. This tournament marks the fourth occasion Arena Hua Hin (formerly True Arena Hua Hin) will serve as the host.
Previous iterations of the event have attracted global tennis stars such as Garbiñe Muguruza from Spain, Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina and Dayana Yastremska, Hungary’s Tímea Babos, Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard, Poland’s Magda Linette, Croatia’s Petra Martić, Hsieh Su-wei from Taiwan, and China’s Zheng Saisai and Zhu Lin.
Thai tennis will also be well represented, with national icons “Tammy” Tamarine Tanasugarn and Luksika Kumkhum among others expected to play.
